Storrs, Connecticut
Venue Name: University of Connecticut
Address: Various Dining Halls On Campus

Description:
This WoodSongs Coffeehouse just celebrated its 6th year on campus. Jim Rogers began presenting WoodSongs Coffeehouses on campus back in 2003. The original coffeehouse started at McMahon Dining Hall and now moves from dining hall to dining hall based on where I am currently working. We hold the coffeehouse four times per year, two each semester. The events are quite popular and we usually see over 100 students. As I write this we are gearing up for the first annual WoodSongs Singer/Songwriter Contest, which will feature Lara Herscovitch as a guest performer and judge. Lara is the current State Of Connecticut Troubadour.
The main theme of our coffeehouses has always been student talent. We always keep it acoustic ranging from Folk, Blues, Rock, Bluegrass, County, Jazz and Classical. We have a very nice sound system and everything you could possibly need to perform (talent and instruments not provided). We have hosted local high school students, alumni, current students, staff, area music schools and friends.
The coffeehouses feature the musical renditions of current UCONN students, grads, employees, families and friends. This is our 6th year of WoodSongs coffeehouses and they get bigger and better. If you have any questions or if you would like to be considered for a spot to play, please email Jim at james.rogers@uconn.edu.
We do not (nor will we ever) charge for admission, or snacks. We always have fresh baked cookies, vegan brownies, and fresh popped popcorn. Fair trade coffee and soda are also free.

One of two European Street Cafe's in Jacksonville that present Listening Room Concerts, this location has a concert every Saturday. Larry Mangum and Ray Lewis began presenting Songwriters' Circle Concerts at the original room one Thursday every three months in 2006. At first the concerts were held one Saturday each month and after a few months changed to two Saturdays each month. In August 2008 the music events grew to every Saturday and along with the Songwriters' Circle the format grew to include Coffeehouse Concert Series three of the Saturdays. Ray Lewis is now the music manager and Larry Mangum is the host for the Songwriters' Circle.
The main theme is acoustic original music ranging from Folk, Bules, Bluegrass, County, Jazz and Classical.
