Show Details Page

Kelly Joe Phelps  The Lovell Sisters
KELLY JOE PHELPS launched his recording career after discovering the blues of Skip James, Robert Pete Williams, and Mississippi Fred McDowell. His sixth CD is made up of all original compositions that remains in the country-blues and folk music traditions. If you love slide guitar, this is the WoodSongs for you. A blend of country, folk, and contemporary acoustic music, but it's the harmony vocals of the three sisters that make their sound so special. They won NPRs "A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor" National Teen Talent Competition in February, 2005, and in May 2006, Rebecca became the first female to win the MerleFest International Mandolin Competition.
